Field of Expertise

 

Public Policy making

 I studied Public Policy and I have been involved actively in the area of policy formulation. I formulated the policy of Community involvement in management of their forest resources while working under the Directorate of Forestry. Recently, under the Ministry of Land Reform, I was at the forefront of developing the Land Bill. I therefore have good skills in policy making and implementation.

 

Rural Development

While working under the Ministry of Agriculture, I was directly involved in community development. Capacitating communities to sustainable manage and benefit from their Forest resources. I also worked under Community based Livestock Management Program, where we encouraged communities to do better rangeland management and livestock marketing. I developed good skills in community mobilization that is key in getting communities to participate in rural development.

 

Human and Financial Management

I have worked at management level for the past 18 years in public service, directly dealing with recruitment, training and budgeting, including the national processes of coming up with National Development plans and Strategic plans at sectoral level. I am therefore skilled with Human resources and Financial management.
